Fear And Loathing In Las Vegs
'Bubba Ho-tep' opens drive-in movie series
Sub Rosa Drive-In is back and brings popular movies and drive-in movies with the help of Portsmouth Artspace 3S. After a brief hiatus, Sub Rosa returns on Friday, July 22 with a special screening of the classic 2002 horror comedy "Bubba Ho-Tep." The show will take place at the future home of Artspace 3S, the historic building fermentation Frank Jones on Islington Street, Portsmouth.
Artspace 3S Sub Rosa is the main sponsor for the 2011 summer season. Shows will be held every second Friday in September at the Frank Jones fermentation building at 13 Jewell St., Located behind the CVS on Islington Street. Shows start at 9:00 p.m.
"We are delighted to bring the drive to Portsmouth and be part of the mission 3S Artspace to create an innovative, diverse community arts space in Portsmouth," said Sub Rosa co-founder Larry Clow, in a press press.
Sub Rosa is only the coastline from the original drive-in, with a large screen and audio sent directly to your car. Sub Rosa is dedicated to show the best (and some of the worst that is: they are good) cult films and classic movies.Summer range includes everything from well-known classics like "The Blues Brothers" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" to lesser-known favorites like the 60 euro-spy classic "Danger: Diabolik" and Brian DePalma forgotten " 70 rock opera "Phantom of the Paradise".
3S Artspace co-founder Chris Greiner said: "Under our spirit undaunted by Rosa and interest in the unconventional, and while we still can not put the community in our future home, we love that we now have a good reason for them to come and visit us outside in our yard."
The 2011 Sub Rosa Drive-In summer schedule includes:
July 22 — Bubba Ho-tep; Aug. 5 — Danger: Diabolik; Aug. 19—Hairspray; Sept. 2 — Phantom of the Paradise; Sept. 16—Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; Sept. 30—The Blues Brothers.
